Built on thirty-five years of mould making and machining
We are not a software house. We are a team that makes moulds, cuts metal and waits at the machine on the night shift. CNC Probing was not born in a laboratory; it was born in that workshop.
We learned the problem by living it
For thirty-five years we went through the same thing again and again. The part came off the machine, went to the inspection room and waited its turn. By the time an error was found the set-up reference was long gone; the part was re-clamped, re-datumed, sometimes re-machined. Now and then it went to scrap. The machine stood still throughout.
We tried what the market offered. Some were expensive, some were hard to use, most did not suit the control units on our machines. Writing a macro meant calling in technical support from outside. In the end we decided to build it ourselves.
What we have built
Today we have a product family. On-machine measurement software, the AutoFinish module that measures and corrects on its own, the CNC Control monitoring software and the mobile app the operator uses at the machine. Alongside them: measuring probes, laser and contact tool setters, styli and tool holders.
None of it was designed at a desk. Every feature came out of a problem we met in our own workshop. The team that wrote the software was the same team that used the machine.
What we believe
A measuring system should not make life hard for the person using it. The operator should not have to write macros, work out angles or go looking for a post processor. The machine control should be left alone and the existing set-up should not be disturbed.
And we believe this as well: inflated figures do nobody any good. Every technical value you see on this site and in the catalogue has either been measured or its calculation is shown.
We listen to you
Every workshop has its own work, its own parts and its own habits. So we do not sell a box and walk away: we listen to what you need and, where it is called for, develop software specific to you. We work so that you get the highest yield from your CAD/CAM software under real production conditions.
Where we are going
Our aim is to put on-machine measurement within reach of small and medium workshops. For manufacturers who cannot set up an expensive inspection room but still have to be sure of the size of their part.
The cost of a machine comes back not in the hours it stands idle but in the hours it makes good parts. Every CNC owner being able to run their machine at full capacity is among our goals.
